This device is a part of the Cradlepoint branch deployment series of fixed wireless routers and adapters, along with the E300, E3000, and the W1850.
This purpose-built adapter is designed for high-performance branch locations.
Each of these branch-tailored routers and adapters has standardized C-band support, NetCloud management, and robust hardware inside.
The W2005 unit is an outdoor device, while the others are all indoor but all support the Cradlepoint Captive Modem feature, which allows an external, ethernet connected modem to be placed closer to the signal source.
This is perfect for scenarios where the router would live in a low signal strength area. The W2005 also allows for simultaneous 5G (on the lower/mid band) and CAT20 4G LTE connections, maximizing bandwidth.

The first step to installation is always to consider your location, based on the following considerations:
- Make sure mounting surface is clear of obstructions.
- Position device for optimal reception
- Ensure plenty of ventilation
- Consider install by a pro
[UNBOXING] You’ll also want to make sure you’re using at least a CAT5 ethernet cable, preferably a CAT 7a, though.
Next, insert 2FF SIM, or SIMs. Primary in Slot 1.
Then attach antennae. Then mount the adapter. Do NOT use power tools. Then attach mounting hardware to a pole or other surface. Then attach the W2005 to the mount, adjusting tension to get the correct orientation.
Then connect the grounding wire, followed by an Ethernet cable to PoE LAN 1. Then plug an Ethernet cable from the PoE to the WAN port on your router.
Finally you will set up your device in NetCloud Manager.
